Water Pumps

Water Pumps

The water pump, also known as the cooling system pump, is a critical component of any liquid-cooled internal combustion engine. This pump ensures the forced circulation of coolant, water, or antifreeze within the engine’s cooling system. The coolant flows through:

  • Water jackets in the cylinder head and engine block;
  • The cabin heater;
  • Then through the radiator, where it releases heat to the airflow;
  • After cooling in the radiator, the fluid returns to the engine.

When the water pump’s components wear out, its normal operation is disrupted, leading to potential bearing noise and coolant leaks through the drive shaft seal. Ignoring these issues can result in engine overheating, necessitating complex and costly engine repairs. Timely replacement of the water pump will save both time and money.
